How safe are anal toys?
Question: How far can anal toys safely be inserted? My husband and I have anal beads strung on a plastic rod. The strand is about 10 inches long. Is it okay to insert them all the way up my anus? I can feel them deep inside me. Is this normal?
Answer: As long as you feel comfortable, you or your husband can safely insert your rod-string of anal beads until all of then are inside you. If you do this, the beads inserted first will pass through the anal canal, which is a few inches long, and wind up in the rectum, a larger, wider passage that's 5 or 6 inches long.
Once in the rectum, the beads might bunch up because the rectum is wider than the anal canal. Or they might pass out of the rectum into the colon.
This is safe--as long as (1) you feel comfortable, (2) you use plenty of lube, (3) the beads are all round and intact with no sharp edges, and (4) you notice no blood on your underwear or toilet paper afterwards. Don’t just lubricate the beads.
Also lubricate your anus and anal canal. Most anal toys are designed with flared, fail-safe ends that prevent their getting lost in the anus. Butt plugs have flared ends. Beads often have handles. Don't insert beyond the fail-safe device. Otherwise, enjoy.
