Anal Pleasure Gives Me Hemorrhoids
Question: Every time I attempt some sort of anal pleasure, I end up with the worst case of hemorrhoids you could believe. How can I prevent them? I've even tried a couple of different lubes. Please help! I want to enjoy this!
Answer: Anal sex—fingering, insertion of toys, and penis-anus intercourse—can cause pain when not approached slowly, carefully, lovingly, and with a lot of lubricant. But anal sex does not cause hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids are varicose veins of the anal area.
The deformed, distended veins cause pain, even without inserting anything into the anus. Now it's possible that you have small internal hemorrhoids that don't ordinarily cause you pain, but that anal play presses on them enough to be painful. So I'm guessing that anal play triggers your hemorrhoid pain. But anal play doesn't cause hemorrhoids.
The cause of hemorrhoids is chronic constipation. People with this condition often strain to defecate. Over time, that straining stresses the veins in the anal area and they turn into hemorrhoids.
To cure hemorrhoids, fight constipation. Here's how: Eat a diet higher in fiber. Have a bran cereal for breakfast. For more fiber, add raisins or fruit to your bran cereal. Have at least one big salad a day. Ditch the chips and snack on fruit—apples are a constipation fighter. Drink more water.
In chronic constipation, stool becomes very dense and hard to pass. Adding liquid to the diet is a natural stool-softener. Try Metamucil. It's a high-fiber supplement that, when taken with water, helps get things moving. And never ignore the urge to go.
This anti-constipation program should show results in a month or two. Give your hemorrhoids another month or two to heal. Then try returning to gentle, well-lubricated anal play. I bet you won't have problems.
