38 too early for menopause ?
Question: I was reading one of your articles and it said menopause doesn't start until a woman’s forties or fifties. I'm 38 years old, and I’ve been having hot flashes, and suffering insomnia, and mood swings. I still have periods and they’re pretty normal. But my symptoms match what women go through during menopause. What’s up with me?
Answer: Menopausal changes usually begin in women's early forties. But it certainly sounds like you're experiencing them at 38. You must be ahead of your time.
I suggest you consult your physician and/or gynecologist to rule out other possibilities. But if they're ruled out, then you're starting to experience menopausal changes a few years before most women do.
